As the school year comes to an end and the summer break approaches, the Louisville Fencing Center is pleased to offers a weekly camps for fencers of all skill levels, from beginners wanting to learn about fencing to competitive fencers preparing for National Championships.
Our summer programs are designed to enhance the skills and abilities young and seasoned fencers can use as they continue to grow. It will be a very exciting and fun filled program. The day will start with a morning exercise routine, fencing games and fencing techniques, during lunch we will watch a film, play chess, and engage in strategy games. After lunch we will review the earlier techniques and expand on them .Students who have their own electronic equipment will spend more time on fencing techniques, learning to referee a match at the basic level, and proper fencing terminology. During the last 30 min of class all students will get have a chance to fence freely with other students or play games. The camp is also designed to introduce the new fencer to the world of Fencing.
The dates will be available based upon enrollment. We encourage parents to select at least 2 options which will better the chances of getting a week desired. Weeks that do not receive the minimum enrollment will be cancelled. And
individuals who sign up for that week will be offered another date. At least one session will focus on preparing fencers for summer nationals.
