We are proud to announce the impressive performances of our fencers who competed this weekend at the Midwest ROC/RJCC in Columbus.
On Saturday:
After a 6-month hiatus from fencing, Jan Biesiada made a strong comeback, finishing 25th in a competitive 50-man Division II Men’s Foil pool. He was joined by Roman Moldoveanu, who finished 46th after a hard-fought and close direct elimination bout.
Coach Kent showcased his versatility and endurance by competing simultaneously in two events on Day 1:
- In the Vet Men’s Foil, he finished 7th.
- In the Division 1A Men’s Epee, he finished 47th out of 82 fencers.
On Sunday:
- Coach Kent continued his strong performance by securing the 6th place medal out of 24 in the Vet Men’s Epee.
- Roman took 13th out of 23 in Cadet Men’s Foil, falling in his second direct elimination bout.
- Jan competed in the Division 1A event, finishing 36th out of 67 competitors. He also rounded out his weekend by finishing 24th in his FIRST regional saber competition!
Well done to Jan and Roman for their dedication and outstanding performances. We are incredibly proud of both of these young men and their achievements.
